The chocolate tradition has old roots in this gourmets’ land. At the end of the XVII century, Grand Duke Cosimo III and his friend, scientist and poet Francesco Redi made up the royal court concoction for the chocolate and the results were so successful that they caused a diplomatic friction with the royal court of Spain who claimed to produce the best chocolate in the world. The florentine secret ingredient to make chocolate taste more than delicious consisted in adding jasmine flowers to the mix of cocoa, milk and sugar. Passion for excellent chocolate never died since those days in Tuscany, but it has been only in the last twenty years that a group of maitres chocolatiers has renewed the long time tradition for excellency.
